I was listening to an interview on the radio yesterday and I heard a statistic that really alarmed me. The woman being interviewed, Kat, is a survivor of human trafficking from Florida. She has escaped from that life and now runs an organization that works to protect kids from that type of crime.
What struck me was that 1/3 of the kids who approach her to share their experiences when she speaks at schools are boys. We all know that girls are being targeted but I was unaware of how much boys are being preyed upon. I just wanted to let all of you know about this so we can all do our part to protect the boys in our lives.
Jeremiah and Karen, I thought of you specifically since you work with kids in school. I don’t know if the warning signs are the same for boys as they are for girls.
