I just love it when this happens. I wonder what God must be thinking when he watches someone given a Grammy for their music including some lyric like, "...Slap tha bitch up that ass...".
Then he or she gets up on stage to accept the award and the first thing they say is, "Thank you. First thing I want to say is I give all the honor and glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." I have yet to see a line in the Bible that resembles such a lyric. What do you think?

Are you sure that this performance and the winning artist were the same? Hmmm. The winning rap song, for example, was "Jesus Walks" by Kanye West, whom I can totally imagine saying what you quoted. I just scrolled through the winners--most of them are very worthy musicians and songwriters ;-)

Subject: Boxers and rappers

Actually I'm referring to a concert Ellen Degeneres recently did.
She said that she has met God in her life. She described God as a female that is about 47-48 years old. So God says to Ellen that one of the things that depresses Her (God) is that the only people that actually say "Thank You" anymore to her are professional boxers after their boxing matches and rappers when they get their Grammys.
On a side note that Kanye West song, "Jesus Walks" is awesome. It reminds me of my favorite gospel group -- Kirk Franklin orchestra. I would love to see The Village do a rendition of "Jesus Walks." My favorite lyric is when Kanye says, "... the only thing I pray is my feet don't fail me now."
Has anyone else heard Kanye's song "Jesus Walks"? Let me know what you think. Thanks. I think it is totally off the hiz-ook.

Subject: God and the Grammy

God does not watch the grammies. It is an illusion created by rising swamp gas released from too many celebrity skulls. Actually, I just want a weekly backseat view of God, Jesus, and HS watching various shows with sarcastic "MST3K" style commentary. It would make it all worthwhile. A definition for true redemption.
