Village: June 2, 2003: The Below postcard is a summary of what Rod said after Vespers last Sunday. The Village has been struggling financially and has been living on reserves for the last while. Those reserves have all but disappeared. The single largest budget items at the Village are pastor’s salaries and building rent so the obvious places to impact our budget is in those two areas. Rent for the Muse is the cheapest we have been able to find, so the only place left to cut is pastor’s salaries. To that end Eric and Rod are taking a 16% pay cut for the next three months. After that we will need to find part time work in order to continue to survive. This will affect the Village several ways. One is that we will probably not be able to be as generous with buying lunches, hosting dinners, and helping people financially as we have been doing. A second is that it will be more difficult to schedule time and to be as available to you as we are now. You can help by encouraging us, giving as generously as you are able, and being sensitive to the realities of our situation. The impact of this is felt more keenly by Eric and Sue since their income from the Village is their sole source of income. Pastor Rod Other Stuff: We will be at the Muse until July 15, 2005.
