Hi, guys. seems like when my heart is the fullest, I just wanna tell ya'll about it.
Really weird stuff is happening with me. I'm actually liking God. I'm not so mad at Him anymore. I always wanted to like Him. Now I'm falling in love with Him. I mean, this is really weird, but I'm actually setting my alarm early so I can wake up and hang out with my Papa. So weird. I'm actually longing to just sing to Him of my love for Him. Of how lovely and amazing and creative and involved He is. I'm actually giving up free time just to talk to Him about the people I love and their needs.
I know what's come over me. God's been showing me Who is Really is. My folks sent me this book called "The Shack." This guy Mack whose little daughter is abducted by a serial killer gets this note in his mailbox on a day the mailman couldn't come signed "Papa" and inviting him to hang out with Him at the scene of the crime. Mack goes, and hangs out with God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit for the weekend and gets to ask all the questions he wants about his daughter as well as experience the Trinity's beautiful relationship with each other.
My Abba met me. I didn't know it but I was holding Him at arm's length emotionally. And so I was missing out on His feelings for me--and on His feelings for you, too. As I read, He showed me many of my doubts about Him. He helped me fight off my doubts. He disassembled them. He really is all that. His heart for me--and for each of you--is so huge. He really is involved with us. And with all people everwhere. He really IS trustworthy--with all that is in our hearts. I love Him so much now. I'm so excited about jumping out of bed and just being with Him. About bringing Him such happiness as I sing to Him and talk to Him and bring about healing and hope and and all kinds of good things in the lives of my friends--just by asking God for them.
I'm falling in love with God and Jesus...I always wanted to. But I couldn't because I didn't see Him as He is.

This is wonderful but not unexpected. You have been an inspiration to me as you have traveled this journey and I was certain He would meet you!

That's cool, Emily ;-) I have felt that I was good friends with God for a long time. It's been more of a gradual process for me, rather than a falling in love experience, and USUALLY I actually like him, although sometimes I don't "get" him and even argue with him (like with everyone human I love). But the love is always real even when it's not pretty ;-) It's great that your relationship is evolving in a tangible way.

I hadn't heard anything about "The Shack" until last month when I saw the author talking about it on the "Today" show, of all places. I started to cry to stumble across a man lovingly sharing truth about God on network TV. I've wanted to read it since I saw him on the show. I saw someone's copy hanging out in a bag last week at Seneca House; I guess that was yours.
