I love to go shopping. I love to freak out salespeople.
They ask me if they can help me, and I say, "Have you
got anything I'd like?" Then they ask me what size I
need, and I say, "Extra medium."

Count me in! I can help folks do math (ritmatik, prealg, alg, intemediate alg, college alg). I consider it pure joy! Also grading in the company of others would be fun, less lonely. When? Due to too many work hours ;( just at night, except Fri-Sun, when I can join the math group almost anytime. :)

Yesterday Chris took Timmy on a little outing. They went to the DM Pima office to pay for my class and then to the book store at the east campus. He came home with three pounds worth of book and study guide.

It's not like I haven't realized what exactly it is that I'm getting ready to do. It's just that now I have tangible proof - there's a book in my house and in six months time I will understand these now very mysterious looking equations. (At least that's what I tell myself to fight the scary feeling...)

SuKay approached me with the question of timing for a math study group. Some Monday evenings, Tuesday evenings, most Wednesday evenings, not too early Thursday evenings, and Saturday afternoons/evenings are options. Friday mornings/days are an option, too. I could have my kids do their weekly homework at that time. It would be healthy for them to see a bunch of adults do homework.
Derek: I'm not so sure about Sunday nights after Vespers. That alarm rings awfully early on Monday mornings. But I'm not totally excluding it. Where? My house - your house - someone else's house - library - duncan donuts - ...

Okay I now break this week of silence on the subject of "math support group." I guess we'll just wait and see when school starts, where and when to meet.

Saturday nights work for me at either Dunkin Donuts or Coffee X Change. Mike used to meet me at Dunkin Donuts for math tutoring.

The International House of P4NC4KES is another place that's open 24 hours. Rod and I recently met there at 4:30am, but not really about math stuff except maybe my problem of remembering only n - 1 things in a list of n things.
