The Ellsworth Methodist Church in Ellsworth, Kansas (where I spent my growing up years) knows about the Village and is supporting us. They have put the following in the monthly newsletter and in the church bulletin on Sunday. I love that the pastor and the leaders thought enough about us and what God is doing in our community to tell the rest of the congregation and those receiving the monthly newsletter. That is an answered prayer!

If you are looking at this from Kansas...thanks for supporting us!

That's wonderful! How did they find out about us--through your parents? through an appeal letter you sent?

Ellie and I went back to Kansas for 3 weeks in June. The church's pastor was kind enough to sit down with me and hear about The Village. She was even kinder to set another appt with me when I spaced the first appt...how like a Villager, huh, and so unlike me, usually. Must have been nerves. Anyway, the appt went well. I left them with materials that Eric had given us for the church...the letter, the brochure of Villager stories, a brochure about us, and a CD. The pastor was going to talk to the missions committee to see how she should approach the church with us as a mission. This is what came out of that.

Thanks for asking...
