We just found out today that Alice has swine flu. She got the regular flu shot on Monday, so at first I thought she was just feverish from the shot... Just thought everyone might want to know. Please pray that she will recover without complications and that I will not catch it.
Her symptoms, in case anyone is interested:
fever, 101 to 103.5
runny nose - mostly clear though
occasional unproductive cough
sleepy

She hasn't had a high fever since early this morning (Friday). I am still feeling fine. Benji might be getting sick... we aren't sure yet. I wanted to clarify the test Alice got for Swine Flu. The actual test apparently takes several weeks to get results for. What Alice's pediatrician did was to test for Influenza A, since Swine flu is a type of Influenza A. Alice tested positive. Since Swine flu makes up about 90 - 95% of type A influenza going around in Tucson right now, the doctor is calling it swine flu but there is a small possibility it is some other kind of flu. - Susan Park Edit this response Write a response Email the author
