My dad wants to get rid of--I mean, GIVE AWAY--a 27 inch Sony. It still has a functional remote control. Its only drawback is that when you first turn it on, it sometimes (not always) tends to make some crackling noises, which he says dissipate after it "warms up" (is that a technical term?--I haven't seen TVs needing warming up since the 70s)

If you're interested, email me...if you can arrange to pick it up from his house (22nd/Craycroft area) at a time mutually convenient to you and me, you can have it. Which brings me to the second and final warning about the TV (per Dad): "It's heavy." ;-)

Karen asks, "If it's so great, why did you replace it?"

Dad says, "I wanted an HD LCD."

First come, first served, baby. And stay tuned for future Village website offers from the Bradley clan...first a car, then random furniture, then an old TV...who knows what will be next? (Dad says, "A daughter?!?" Dad, they already know I'm available.)

We are interested as long as no one else wants it. We have a 17" now. However if someone doesn't have one at all, give it to them.

I would be happy to take it off your dad's shoulders. I can fully understand the HD LCD option.

So does your dad also have the THX surround sound speakers that came with it? j/k :D

Give me a call to let me know if it's still available or I can call you.

Thanks for the post Karen.

If your dad knows of any Subaru Foresters available I'd be very interested in one -- automatic preferably. I'm too overly analytical to drive a five speed manual transmission.

Requirements for claiming the TV:

1) Out of respect for Ginger & Kevin calling it first, clearly state that you don't have a TV ;-)
2) Call or email me w/some time options in the next couple of weeks that you could be at my dad's house with a vehicle large enough to load it into (my car won't work), and keep in mind that neither I nor my dad will be able to help you lift and load the awkward beast ;-)(me, because I'm physically challenged with back and shoulder pain right now, and my dad won't be there till sometime around Labor Day).

Ginger, as for the Dire Straits allusion, TV for free is good, but not as good as "money for nothing." "I want my MTV!" (who remembers when MTV actually showed MUSIC VIDEOS??)

Hey Dave, yeah, it's still on and still shows videos, but it seems like most of its programming is something else. "Reality" TV, etc etc.
