At my cousin's son's first communion party last Sunday, I saw Julie's Aunt Nancy. Wasn't too surprised to see her then because she was also at my grandma's funeral three years ago. Her Aunt Nancy (like MY Aunt Nancy) goes to St. Pius and has tutored my cousin's wife in English...that's the connection there.

And Sam, in my second period class, tells me that his drum teacher is the drummer for the Wyatts, the band we're playing with this Saturday night.

Metro Tucson DOES have a million people and all, but still... Sometimes I laugh about it ;-)

If you have any similar stories, I'd love to hear them.

My mom, Mary, told me when I was about 8 or 9 about the reason I was given my name. She told me that she and my dad wanted to name me after my dad because their other choice Daniel Mason didn't seem right.

They also were considering what my suffix would be -- either as junior, jr., or II. They saw the roman numeral II as more refined. Yet to all who know me in my family, mom and dad's side of it, I'm not known as James at all. I'm better known as J.R. I prefer James. But once family introduces you as something, it usually sticks. As is also the case with my stepmom Janis. She finds it hard to call me by James as she was also given introduction to me as J.R.

Thank you for calling me James. It's a good sound to my ears. I was thinking if I had a son what I shall call him. I'm thinking of the name Daniel Mason McCammon. What do you think?
