Joel and Craig & I will be hosting open mic (singer-songwriter focus) nights at ITL Coffeehouse starting this Wednesday (tonight) and going indefinitely every Wednesday until (a) we burn out (b) Peter the owner tells us to go away (c) the establishment is taken over by someone else (d) one of us relocates to another city (none of these immediately likely). So come by, like, between 7:00 and 8:30 if you're interested in seeing/hearing/drinking. They carry Jones Soda, too, for you non-coffee drinkers. It's on 4th Avenue across from the Food Conspiracy and next to Antigone Bookstore. (Craig played there w/Buckshot Blu before I even joined the band, and during the show, the folks at Antigone called to say, "Can you turn your amps down? We're having a poetry reading." Anyway, this go-round will be considerably less loud.)

If you (or someone you know) want to share your singing/songwriting, let me know. ;-)

This sounds like a really cool - fun thing! I don't know when my schedule will allow me to go but I do intend to make a huge effort to get there soon! Thanks for posting about it!!!

Craig's business partner played, then Joel, then a young woman named Amy, then Craig & I. We didn't have enough time to set up the keyboard. So I felt like the older sister in the Partridge Family or something--you know, just holding the tamborine and singing backup, although I didn't even have the tamborine or the go-go boots...not that they'd have fit the mood of the song... ;-)

There were some random folks there (i.e., not just friends) and some of them were pretty darn random ;-) So you could go just for the offbeat people watching, it being 4th Ave and all.

Last night was great fun though we only saw Amy and you and Craig. You guys were worth the trip.

I thought you looked really happy, kind of glowing last night Karen. Definetly in your element! Beautiful.
