As alluded to in a previous blog, Buckshot Blu--no, we're not dead, not even sleeping, though tripping around occasionally, maybe ;-)-- will be playing Frog n Firkin – 874 E. University Boulevard - on Saturday March 5th. We're set to play after the Wyatts, which means we'll probably play at 10:30 (or later).

(They got the hats that we don't got.)

Of course THIS would have to be the weekend that I have to get up at 6 a.m. Sunday and drive w/Rod & Keith to a church in Sun City (Phoenix) ;-)

Hope to see you there, if you're enough of a night owl.

Yeah, we got rained out. It was a patio show, and the rain came down, and down some more. We've been rescheduled for Saturday, May 6.

I look forward to hearing about the prayer retreat y'all were at.

Karen, you wanted to hear about the prayer retreat. Well, as I reread some of my journaling while there, I noticed how much of a theme there was. Incidentally, it is about rain. Um - I'm sorry that your gig got rained out, but, quite honestly, I'm very happy that it did rain.

So today I am summoning up all my courage to share something from my journal (from that Saturday).

Hosea 6:3
...He will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.

You come to us like rain
Rain
Water
Life-giving substance
the desert is dressed
in her wedding gown
brought forth
by the rain
Rain
Water
Water of life
quenching the
thirst for You
satisfying all my needs
You created me for
love
You created me for Your
pleasure
You created me for
beauty
Beauty
Flowers
the desert abloom
Life
the essence of life
Water
Rain
You will come to us like rain

Thanks for sharing. I can relate to what you wrote. And I thought at the time, if a show has to be cancelled, at least it's by something really good.

Does any 20- or 30-something remember the early 90's hiphop group Arrested Development? Patricia's poem reminded me of their great song, "Rainin' Revolution." God coming like rain in the desert... revitalizing, bringing revolution, turning everything on its head. It can get muddy, messy for a while, but then you have flowers in "Death" Valley.
