To pass the time at Loch Leven, May counted sheep.
One day she counted 250 percent more that ever before.
If the highest previous total had been 4900, how many
sheep did she count this time?

In defense of what Eric has been saying about eating with others you're wanting to reach out to... the word "companion" comes from the Latin prefix "com" (with) and the Latin word "panis" (bread). Literally, a companion is someone you eat bread with.

Having said that, I wouldn't recommend anyone sharing the Communion bread leftover from last Sunday's belonging service... It's almost as hard as the fallout shelter bricks in our wall ;-)

Karen, being the Word Nerd that you seem to be could you help me wtih the words compatibility and comprehensive? Are they of latin origin also or do they have a different origin? How would you describe them to someone who didn't speak English? The challenge is now before you. Begin.

yes, and also explain the epistemology of the word "irregardless."

Other quick questions-
1. How does one properly expect the unexpected? Are alternative dimensions involved anywhere in this process?

2. How do sports teams actually become decimated on the field? Do they cut that part out of the aftershow?

3. If I am bored, could this mean that I am underwhelmed?

4. If a device is called an "elevator" in America and a "lift" in England, why would it ever bother to go down?

One more question, Karen. Isn't awe a good thing? Then how come that something full of awe is aweful yet something with only some awe is awesome? Just wondering ...

...I assume you are?

I assume Benji is under a pile of work at Lowe's (or has been too busy having real fun) to have not inserted his $.02 by now.

Both are Latin in origin. Compatible is related to the word compassion; literally, compatibility is the ability to suffer along with someone. Comprehensive is related to the word comprehend, which is the Latin prefix "with" added to the front of "grab." Like, you're grabbing a lot when you're getting comprehensive. A while ago, I thought about doing a little blurb about the word "passion" itself, but I don't have time to do it justice now.

Explain these words to non-English speakers? NO English? Like with charades? You've given me no context. And these words are too abstract to easily explain w/out language.
