Subject: love and the suffering God
What you're saying reminds me of a Vespers talk from many moons ago by Brian Marek on the Suffering of God. I like the idea that God is affected by us. I think the traditional teachings make this out to be that God can be diminished and isn't as perfect or something. I don't know, but it seems to me that if we are meant to be in relationship with Him there is some kind of impact--good and bad--that we have on Him. Anyways, I don't know how that all shakes out with the power and perfection of God, but it seems to fit well with a God who is love.
